General Questions
When/where is Jaycon 10?
Due to the state of the pandemic, Jaycon 10's postponement is currently being upheld into 2022. Expect news to come late 2022 or early 2023 if it will be safe to resume operations in 2023.
Who runs Jaycon?
Jaycon is run by the Elizabethtown College Anime Club. Many of the club members are staffers and the officers of the club along with a few other select members make up the team of "Super" staffers that plan and organize the convention. The con is entirely planned and run by students who want everyone to have a good, safe, and fun time.
What time will Jaycon start and end?
You can expect the convention to run from early morning on Saturday to late evening, and early morning Sunday to mid-afternoon. Jaycon opens both days at 9AM with Saturday ending around 11PM and Sunday ending around 5PM.
Are there kids there? What is the usual age range?
Jaycon brings in people of all ages, from babies to grandparents. The usual age range is between 16 and 25, with most of our attendees being high school and college-aged.
What will the COVID policies be regarding the convention?
As Jaycon is hosted on the campus of Elizabethtown College, we ask that you follow the same guidelines put forth to students and employees of the college. As of August 12th, 2021, masks are required in all indoor buildings on campus. You will be asked to leave if you are inside and refuse to wear a mask. If you are outside/stationed at an outside table, you will have the option to not wear a mask. There are no vaccination requirements at this time. If any changes arise to the college's COVID policy, then we will update this post accordingly.

Location Questions
What will the weather be like?
It could be anywhere between 40 to 80 degrees come spring in south central Pennsylvania, with the usual temperature in the 60s. Cloudy and overcast is usual, with rain not uncommon (so those of you in cosplay, come prepared to protect your costumes!).
Where should I park? Is there a parking fee?
Parking for attendees is mainly in Brown Lot on Elizabethtown Campus and there is no fee. Brown Lot is located directly across from Lake Placida. Check out the Campus Map below! There will be signs directing you where to park, and depending on what time you arrive, possibly a handy-dandy staffer to point you in the right direction!
Where am I going? (AKA which buildings is Jaycon held in?)
Jaycon is mainly held in the Hoover Center, and Leffler Chapel. Hoover Center is located on the right side of Masters Center. Leffler Chapel is behind the lake, and is hard to miss with its large white steeple.
Check out the Campus Map below!
Where is Registration?
Registration is held at Leffler Chapel, everyone must come to the registration table even if you have already pre-registered to pick up your badge.

Are there ATMs available?
There is a PSECU owned ATM located on Campus, in the Brossman Commons, located in the center of the campus. (Again, check out the campus map!) Another ATM can be found at the Giant Food Market in town.
Is there food available?
Food can be found on-campus at the Jays Nest (similar to a Wawa with both premade food and made-to-order food). It is located in the Brossman Commons, downstairs near the ATM. Off-campus, there are fast food restaurants aplenty on Main Street, along with grocery stores, all within a five minute drive from the campus. These selections include Wendy's, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Giant, and Weis.
Can I access the WiFi on campus?
No. The WiFi access on campus is reserved for students and faculty of Elizabethtown College.

Registration Questions
How much is it to attend Jaycon?
Pre-Registration fee is $20 and At-Door Registration is $30. We try to keep the con as wallet-friendly as possible! Current E-Town students pay $10 if they show their student ID at the registration table.
Are there single-day tickets to Jaycon?
No. Single-day tickets are currently not financially feasible for Jaycon, considering the low price of the full-weekend badges.
Are there group rates for Jaycon?
Yes, any group of ten or more people get a 20% discount off each pre-registration. Each person must pre-register through the Attendee Registration page, followed by submitting the Group Registration form is also on that page.
Why should I pre-register?
Pre-registering allows you to pay less for your badge, be guaranteed entrance to the con (always a worry with small registration caps), and allows you to get through the registration process much quicker.
How do I get my badge? Will Jaycon mail it to me?
If you pre-register, you can pick up you badge at the Registration Table at Jaycon. We will not mail you your badge as everyone must go through the Reg Table.
I've heard that you need an ID to pick up your badge. What kind of IDs are acceptable?
That's right, we do require an ID to pick up your badge. We prefer government-issued IDs, such as Driver's Licenses, but we also accept school IDs, or other valid identification documents with photo attached. Younger attendees that do not have school IDs can be vouched for by a parent/guardian who has proper identification.
Please be aware school IDs are not acceptable for getting 18+ wristbands for the later panels hosted on Saturday night. Government issued ID (Passport, Birth Certificate, Driver's License, etc.) will be required for getting a wristband.
I want to be a Vendor/Artist at Jaycon. Do I still have to register as an attendee?
YES. To even be considered as a possible Vendor/Artist, you must be registered as an attendee first.

Artist and Vendors Questions
So which am I, Artist or Vendor?
That depends on what you plan to sell. We define Artists as individuals who sells mainly art - prints, comic or art books, trading cards, and on-site commissions. These are all hand-made and produced by the Artist. Vendors encompass more, as individuals who sell merchandise such as manga, DVDs, plushies, and cosplay accessories and materials. If you feel you do not fit either description, you can contact the Artist and Vendor Coordinator. We're happy to help place you in the correct area.
What size tables do you provide for Artists/Vendors?
There are two table sizes used in the Jaycon Artist Alley and Dealers Room. The full table size is 6'x2.5' (six feet long, two and a half feet wide). Half-tables are defined as one 8'x2.5' (eight feet long, two and a half feet wide) that is split down the middle. One half-table is 4'x2.5' (four feet long, two and a half feet wide). There is usually enough space behind the table with two chairs (that we provide) and storage of goods. Large shelving units may or may not fit behind the tables. If you are worried about your display fitting into the space provided, please contact us for more detailed measurements. If you need more chairs, they can usually be provided on a limited basis from Jaycon Staff.
Can I buy more than one table?
Yes, you can buy up to two tables for more space. You will have to pay the table fee for both tables purchased. However, due to the setup of the Artist Alley and Dealers Room, multiple table purchases will be limited.
Can I hang things on the wall behind my table?
NO. Because of facility regulations, special approved tape must be used to tape things to the walls of any College building. If you have wall space and wish to display something, a Super Staffer must tape it up for you and take it down for you. Due to the set up of the Artist Alley and Dealers Room, many tables do not have an actual wall - instead they are separated by curtain dividers. With Staff approval, appropriate light-weight materials may be hung there.
Will there be electrical outlets available?
We do our best to provide power to all our tables. However, this may be done through outlet strips that will service multiple tables, or outlets may not be immediately accessible from your table.

Cosplay Questions
Do I have to cosplay?
If you want to, we love to see everyone enjoying themselves in costume, but it is not a requirement.
Can I come in a costume that is not anime related?
Of course! We won't stop anyone from coming to Jaycon just because their costume is not anime related. We encourage attendees to come in whatever costume they want. However, know that because Jaycon is an anime convention and a family friendly con, the contests may not allow non-anime costumes and the appropriate amount of clothing is required. See the Rules Page for more information.
What are the rules for cosplays at Jaycon?
Again, please check our Rules Page for a detailed listing of all our rules, including those on costumes. Most of the rules are common sense. If the costume doesn't fit through a regular sized doorway, you may want to reconsider. Please dress appropriately for the event; partial and full nudity is not allowed at Jaycon.
What weapons/props can I bring as a part of my cosplay?
We know that props and weapons can make or break a cosplay, but please be respectful of the following rules:

We know that props and weapons can make or break a cosplay, but please be respectful of the following rules:
- Live Steel (or any metal that could potentially hold a sharpened edge) is not permitted on the Elizabethtown College campus. Do not attempt to bring such a weapon into the convention.
- Real, working weapons (including but not limited to: Guns, bows, knifes, swords) are also not permitted on the Elizabethtown College campus. Do not attempt to bring such a weapon into the convention.
- Props must be under 6 feet at their maximum height or width. Remember that the halls and doorways are not that big, and if you bring a prop even close to the maximum size, you might have problems getting around the convention. Please also understand that you must be careful not to let props drag around as they may hit or trip others and if the prop causes too many issues, you may be asked to leave it in your car for the rest of the convention.
Please see our Rules Page for more detailed rules.
Other Miscellaneous Questions
Why don't you run 24 hours?
The College does not allow the convention to run 24 hours, nor would our staffers survive a 24-hour convention. And we quite enjoy staffers that survive the weekend. A lot of planning goes into what we already do!
I've lost something! What do I do?
Best place to start is the Registration Table, as it doubles as an Information Center for attendees. Lost and Found items are either kept at the Registration Table, or placed in the Staff Room (off-limits to attendees). A staffer will be happy to try to help you find your items.
How can I find a staffer?
Staffers will be around at all times, easily visible by their black t-shirts with the Jaycon logo on the front, and STAFF in large bold white print on the back. There is at least one staffer in every panel, event, and screening. There will be staffers circulating throughout the convention areas at all times, and there will always be staffers at the con tables (AKA Registration, Merchandise, and Manga Tables). Feel free to ask anyone wearing a staffer T-shirt any questions you might have, they will be more than happy to assist you in any way possible, or find a Super to answer your questions/fix your problem. Staffers also have the right to ask attendees to stop inappropriate behavior, so if staffers are finding you, we have problems.
What is a Super Staffer?
The Super Staffers, mostly shortened to Supers, are the planners of the convention, who spend most of the school year (and some of the summer) working on making the convention awesome. You can spot them from the regular staffer by their bright blue armband or last year, their bright blue capes with bold white font that says SUPER. Supers will know the answer to almost any question (as long as it pertains to Jaycon). They also run the convention, therefore please, above all, respect them and listen to them!
